August 1, 2020

As we continue to navigate the "uncertain waters" of 2020, our members' safety and well being remain paramount to your Alumni Board.

We had remained hopeful that the fall of 2020 would find us united in prayer and celebration.

We now know that anticipation of a "second wave" of the COVID- 19 virus negates any hope of that for 2020. But .... we are after all St. E's graduates and we will regroup and make plans for 2021! Challenging times reinforce our faith, our strength and our fortitude. We will continue to carefully monitor the pandemic and will communicate future plans for our annual Spring Banquet to celebrate the classes of 1970, 1971,(50 years) and 1995, 1996 ( 25 years) via the President's Blog page.

On a brighter note, your board did have a virtual meeting on June 18th to discuss  this year's Dixie Callahan Scholarship applicants . We are happy to announce that we were able to award four $1,000.00  nursing scholarships to children, grandchildren, nieces and grandnieces of our Alumni members. The proud tradition we carry for our profession and our school of nursing lives on !

That night we also had a  virtual raffle drawing:  The $500.00 winner Nancy Crowley graciously returned her prize to the Scholarship fund. Congratulations to Marti Hopkins for the $300.00 prize and Cathy Allison for the $100.00 prize.

Please enjoy what is left of the summer of 2020. Stay healthy in body, mind and spirit.

Warm regards,

Annette Walsh Mc Gourty  '68 President
